a poem a day for National Poetry Month, and sometimes other months as well, and sometimes more than one poem, and rarely none at all

Prompt: "Hobby"

Sue

One of these days
she’s gonna drop a stitch and,
picking it up again,
catch her long gray hair

and then bend closer to the needles
and then enter her full mind into creation
and then become Maryland’s only
self=perpetuating
